Top Foods For Healthy, Mind And Body-Foods That Heal

Many people are becoming more aware of the importance of eating well and leading a healthy lifestyle, but aren't sure exactly how to incorporate this into their own routine. Contrary to popular belief, eating well doesn't have to mean a drastic overhaul of how you cook.

It also doesn't mean that you have to compromise on taste or texture.

With just a few simple additions to your cooking methods and daily diet, you can start eating more healthily while enjoying every last bite. Nutiva is proud to offer an extensive range of healthy, delicious hemp foods and virgin coconut oil products that make it easier than ever to start eating right.

1) Organic Healthy Foods All foods eaten should be pure; without having been genetically modified or grown with the use of pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, insecticides, etc…

These chemicals, carcinogens, and poisons are a significant cause of disease.

Organic not only tastes better, it is better for the land and animals. Check out local farmers markets.

2) Healthy Vegan Foods- A vegan diet does not contain ANY animal at all (all meats including fish, dairy, eggs, milk cheese, etc…) Vegan contain NO cholesterol.

Numerous scientific and medical journals have conducted studies that convincingly demonstrate that animals are a significant contributing factor to ALL degenerative diseases: cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, arthritis, etc…

Vegetarians have the best diet; they have the lowest rates of coronary heart disease of any group in the country...

Vegetarians have 40% the cancer rate of meat eaters"-William Castelli, MD, Framingham Health Study, the longest running study at diet and heart disease in world medical history.

3) Whole Healthy Foods-There are trillions of species on this planet, but only one alters their food supply. That same species experiences a plethora of degenerative disease unknown in other species.

Why? Most of what we eat have been refined, processed, and preserved with chemicals and food additives in order to prolong their shelf life (Whole wheat becomes white flour).

Or how about partially hydrogenated oils? Isn't that what most of the Western World use to cook.

This is what has gone wrong with this idea.

Small particles of nickel or copper are added and the mix is heated to very high temperatures under pressure for up to eight hours while hydrogen gas is injected.

This process destroys the essential fatty acids in the oil and replaces them with deformed trans fatty acids.

This blocks or delays the work of the essential fatty acids, creating deficiencies and imbalance throughout the metabolism, including fatty deposits in the arteries.

Hemp oil is one of the few oils that is rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs).

Essential Fatty Acids are fats that the body requires for healthy cells but cannot manufacture by itself. EFAs include Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFAs), Omega-3, Omega-6, Omega-9, Linoleic Acid and Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).

Prolonging shelf life makes big companies a lot more money and may be a little easier for us, but is it worth the heavy cost of degenerative disease?

The body simply cannot digest partial, refined and partially hydrogenated oils, or anything else not in its natural, whole state.

All of the recommended foods below are in their whole state. It's the way nature intended us to eat.

Did You Know That Pure Virgin Coconut is known as the World's Finest Cooking Oil?

The hydrogenated oil can easily be replaced for this therapeutic cooking oil. What a shame we have been duped into believing coconut oil is harmful.

Why Virgin Coconut Oil is Good for You

Unrefined coconut oil doesn't just taste better, it's better for you. With around 50% lauric acid content (an acid also found in mother's milk), it helps support a healthy metabolism and is being researched for its ability to protect against fungus, bacteria and viruses.

The benefits of coconut oil's lauric acid are so strong, it is often added to baby formula to help infants develop strong and healthy systems.

Studies have proven virgin refined coconut oil to be a potent brain fuel, excellent for diabetes, mental illness and those individuals with hypoglycemia and addictions. Coconut Oilposseses the ability to actually slow down sugar metabolism.

Studies have also shown that 3 out of 4 diagnosed with alcoholismare known to be hypoglycemic. It is apparant that addictions are related strongly to blood glucose absorption.

Consider also the fact that Pacific Islanders long used coconut as a staple of their diets.

Those who still subscribe to a coconut-rich diet display low incidences of heart disease or obesity.

Those who also switch to more "Western" ingredients, Omega-6 laden vegetable oils, often show a remarkable increase in these illnesses, obesity and other health problems.

4) Raw Healthy Food Food that has been cooked over 118 degrees Fahrenheit has destroyed ALL digestive enzymes in the food. That means your body will have a great deal of difficulty digesting and assimilating the nutrients in the food.

The vitamins/minerals and other trace nutrients are also greatly diminished in the cooking process.

Low enzyme count leads to low energy, degenerative disease, and aging. Attempt to eat a much higher quantity of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables.

Healthy Nuts/Seeds- Coconut, almonds, walnuts, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts, cashew, peanut, chestnut, etc…

Healthy Food Grains- Whole wheat, millet, barley, rye, oats, quinoa, corn, buckwheat, bulgur, and brown & wild rice among others.

Healthy Vegetables- Kale, spinach, potatoes, yams, taro , zucchini, carrot, squash, onion, broccoli, cauliflower, dandelion greens, mustard greens, parsley, beet, beet greens, celery, green/yellow/red bell peppers, cayenne peppers, corn, cabbage, wild lettuces, radishes, mushrooms, asparagus, cucumber, eggplant, artichoke, chives, leeks, green beans, turnip greens, etc…

Healthy Legumes- Peas, lentils, and beans (kidney , white, navy beans, garbanzo, pinto, black) etc…

Healthy Fruits- olive, avocado, grape, raspberry, blackberry, mango, honeydew, strawberry, apple, blueberry, lemon, lime, pear, apricot, orange, cherry, banana, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, peach, prune, etc…

Most individuals do not get close to the required nutrients the body needs, in other words, the body and is really starving. Is it any wonder we have addictions rapidly accelerating world wide.Could the addiction epidemic be a nutritional issue?

Our diets have gotten out of control. There are too many Ad's, Junk food on the grocery shelves, and Fast food drive through's in every neighborhood around the planet.

Hemp Seeds

The hemp seed is one of the best sources of nutritious plant protein. Hemp is also loaded with all 20 amino acids (including the 9 essential).

Plant protein, such as hemp, is vital for vegans and vegetarians, and is also preferred by many world class athletes for its dense nutrition. The protein found in hemp hearts is very digestible, with no known allergies, which makes it an excellent choice for sensitive diets.

Hemp also contains phytonutrients, which may boost immunity, purify the skin, and strengthen connective tissue. Hemp seeds may help with the reduction of cholesterol and blood pressure, reduce inflammation, increase healing time, improve circulation, and boost overall immune function and performance

Chia Seeds

A couple of things that I want to say about Chia that’s really important. First of all, it GMO free, so it has not been genetically engineered.

It is grown in mineral rich soils in Peru, actually, which makes this so nutritious because it’s filled with minerals. Gram for gram it has 15 times the amount of magnesium that is found in broccoli.

It has 6 times the amount of iron found in spinach, for instance. It has the equivalent of, actually—3 times the amount of antioxidants found in blueberries.

It has more protein than found in soy; it’s a protein source. It is the equivalent of, gram for gram the amount of vitamin C found in 7 oranges. It is just phenomenal, not to mention, its omega 3 content.
